Plug aeration is the number one thing that can be done to improve the health and strength of the underlying root structure of your lawn. Dollar for dollar, it is the best investment a homeowner can make every year to have an amazing lawn.
Plug core aeration is performed with a machine that punches holes in the soil and pulls out core plugs of turf. This very important process penetrates the thatch layer, decompacts the soil and allows the grass to receive the moisture and nutrients while promoting stronger growth of the root system. Flat Out will analyze your turf periodically to determine when aeration becomes necessary.
Aeration is typically performed in the Fall season. Pricing is square footage based per 1,000 sq. ft. and typically can be estimated via Google Earth aerial images. We also offer overseeding as an addon service which distributes fresh grass seed during the aeration process allowing much of the seed to penetrate the surface supercharging the growth.
Please note that plug aeration process may potentially damage shallow buried underground items such as invisible dog fence and lawn irrigation systems and is not recommended in these cases.
